Preston rockers WARD XVI scoop Album of the Year 2017

The BCfm Sunday Rockshow / Astro Radio Rock Druid album of the year award for 2017 has been scooped by Preston dark rockers WARD XVI for their debut full lenght release 'The Art Of Manipulation'.



The judges praised the album for its intelligent story line, breathtaking ambition and its excellence in both production and performance. Second place was taken by 2014 award winners KRANKSCHAFT with their album 'III Mysteries' and Belfast hard rockers TRUCKER DIABLO finished in third place with their album 'Fighting For Everything'

The award for best album from an artist from the Bristol area was 'Live On Earth' by Bath based heavy stoner psyche rockers SERGEANT THUNDERHOOF.



This album was praised by the judges for capturing all the fire and energy of the bands live performances whilst maintaining the clarity and percision of their studio releases. Runner up in the local catagory was the eponymous debut album by the side project of Best Boy Electric guitarist Simon Donadel, THE NOTHIN' MAN, and in third place was 'Toll' from Bristol lo-fi punk duo SPUNKING OCTOCHOKE.

The judges wish to praise all this years shortlisted contenders for the high standard of musician, songwriting, production and performance they all showed, it was a very hard and rewarding task and we wish all this years contenders all the best in their future careers.
